A WOMAN has shared a winter driving hack on social media that could get you out of trouble and save you up to £1,000 in fines.
Even better, most people have the cheap items needed at home to complete the hack and they cost 5p.
The woman reveals that all you need to do is fill a freezer bag with hot water and rub it over your windscreen when it’s iced over.
Surprisingly, the video shows it only takes her 30 seconds to thoroughly defrost her car’s windscreen.

But drivers are warned they need to make sure that the water is not too hot, or they could end up shattering the windscreen.
The hack means you aren’t standing in the cold scraping the ice off which takes far longer to do, often with worse results.
The video was shared on Instagram by @lowkeyglutenfree and has had more than 78,100 likes.
The poster said: “This is the ultimate News England hack. I don’t know how I have survived so long without it.
“The water I am using is from the tap. Obviously, the best thing would be to warm your car ahead of time.”
She says that she recommends this hack for people in a rush to get to work.
The vast majority of Instagram users who have tried this hack confirmed that it works.
One said: “This hack works, I used to do it a few winters ago when my car heat wasn’t working. I totally recommend it.”
Another said: “I wish I had known this before.”
But a few drivers pointed out it could be dangerous if the water is too hot, as it could crack the windscreen.
One said: “Hot water on an icy windscreen can cause it to crack, please be careful.”
Another said:” Please use warm water, not hot water.”
